OUR STORY

Changing the Rules of the Bone Healing Game

Smart implants are going to change the way spine and orthopedic surgeons treat their patients. Imagine, though, if you could power implantable sensors AND enhance bone healing with just human motion - no batteries or external stimulators required.

With a unique biomaterial born out of the research lab and an experienced team behind it, DirectSync Surgical is redefining the way orthopedic and spinal implantable devices are researched, designed, and developed.

We view things differently...We don't see the implant as a foreign object with the sole purpose of stabilizing or restoring motion. Instead, we view the implant as an integral part of the natural biochemical and biomechanical responses of the body postoperatively.  We seek to mimic the bodies natural osteoinductive healing mechanisms via our implant designs, while providing important post-operative implant data to inform patients and providers.

OUR MISSION

DirectSync Surgical is pioneering a new generation of human powered smart implants that enhance the body's natural ability to heal & provides unprecedented post-operative implant data to the physician and their patients.

PLATFORM TECHNOLOGY

We leverage the human body's mechanical biofeedback system to design fully integrated smart implants that sense load and electrically stimulate bone growth at the primary site of implantation - no batteries or external stimulators required

Our proprietary technology mimics the natural healing properties of bone by producing a small pulse of DC electrical stimulation in sync with each step the patient takes. This core innovation has applications in multiple load-bearing orthopedic implants.
